3/12/2010: THURSDAY NIGHT MENS TEAM WIN PREMIERSHIP IN C SPECIAL 3: What a night it was last night with the boys after a very slow start came home with a sail beating West Coburg who only three weeks ago had given them a tennis lesson. Congratulations to the President who got the team off to a great start losing 6-1 in the first set. Fantastic effort from the rest of the team to recover from that appalling start and in the end we had a great win. Well done to Peter Medancic, Ovi Stoican, Chris Humbert, Nick Thompson and Simon Nisiphorou on a great season culminating on winning the ultimate prize.

We've had great recent success with our mixed team winning a premiership last season. Next season we have five Senior teams being entered into the NSNTA. Well done to all and special thanks to Nick Thompson and his match committee for the ungreatful task they perform season in season out getting our teams on the courts.

3/12/2010: LADIES NIGHT TENNIS BRINGS HOME THE BACON
Congratulations to Toni Rule, Jacquie Zahra, Michelle Medancic and Amada Auger on beating West Brunswick on Tuesday night in the GRAND FINAL. The ladies had a wonderfully successful season only losing one match. Hayley Willis and Deb Nuredini also made great contributions to the team throughout the season.

11/10/2010: GOOD LUCK to all the teams that will make the finals this year for North Sunshine, including the C Grade 3 Ladies and the C Special 3 mens. Show your support for the club and cheer our teams on to victory!

11/10/2010: Delegates are reminded that team entries for Autumn 2010 close on Friday, 3 December 2010 at 8.00 p.m. Please ensure a team entry form for each team and a Grade Contact sheet for each Club are e-mailed to chairman@nsnta.org by the closing date. Forms can be downloaded under the Forms section of the NSNTA website.

15/6/2010: Queens Birthday Weekend Tournament:- What a fantastic day had by all. That so many turned out on a long weekend that was,-  preceded by three days of rain including rain on the morning of the tournament and was the opening of the ski season is just fantastic. 

The tournament was won by our Life members daughter Samantha Scott and Richard Rule. Runners up were Kyra Rule and Tony Harvey. Congratulations to all players on a fantastic day. We thank John and Robyn Scott for their work in making this tournament possible. Most importantly this tournament recognized the marvelous work of Joff and the late Nancy Scott both life members. All current members are indebted to these two stalwarts of the club that kept it alive during tough times. Without the dedication of these two great Life members none of us would have the marvelous club we do today. That their lovely granddaughter won the tournament is so fitting.

Our club's Life Member John Scott is planning a tournament in early September between the winter and summer season. Keep an eye on the website and the 'Big Serve' for further details.

31/5/2010: Congragulations to the Wednesday night team mixed team, after a cold but great night of tennis, they scraped in by 2 games to win the flag over PEGS, in a friendly but tight tussle. The club will look forward to another flag to be put up in the clubrooms!

19/5/2010: Members of our club are well aware of  Richard's great act of love and gift of life to his uncle Bill some five years ago where he donated his kidney to him. We well remember the donor battled with the recovery more than the recipient. That did not deter Dicky's determination to give his uncle a second chance at life and that he did. All of us at North Sunshine Tennis Club pass on our deepest sympathies to all the Richard, his Parents, Toni and their children at this sad time. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.The Requiem Mass will be held Tuesday next 25th of May at St Marys, 204 Grimshaw St Greensborough at 11 AM.

Individual Male & Female Player Entries For a Round Robin Event played in Graded & seeded format to give all players an equal chance.
Non Members Welcome. 4 sets per player . Entry Fee $10 per player, $20 per family. BBQ lunch during the day.

23/4/2010: Winter Tennis Comp. The match committee have put everyone in teams for this seasons WRTA Winter Season for 2010. I invite you all to come to the club on Tuesday 27/4/10 at 7:00pm for a Teams meeting.  The club will be turning on the lights free of charge for those who wish to have a hit of tennis afterwards. 9/4/2010: A great time was had by all at Cohuna with some winners and runners up over the weekend. Well done to John Riggio and Mick Lehane who won the open mens doubles title. Other winners were Jack in the mixed, and Kath and Neil who came runners up, Kyra won the section 3 girls doubles, Toni runners up in section 3 ladies round robin. Sorry if I missed anyone, shoot me an email to remind me of how you went and it will be posted!. Well done all for participating!

29/3/2010: Get your Cohuna forms into the club by after 3.00pm tonight. Also, have a safe trip to all those going up to Cohuna or travelling for Easter. Drive safely! No Tailgating, and keep to the limits!

22/3/2010: Work has started on the 2 new courts this morning, almost two years to the day when we had our first meeting with council. The official programme of works suggest this is a six week project ... but workers suggested this morning it would be completed much quicker than that (potentially 3 - 4 wks). Exciting times for the NSTC club!

16/3/2010: It is with great sadness a life member of the NSTC, Mrs Nancy Scott has passed. Nancy was a tireless worker around our club during some very lean times. She is a highly respected Life Member. Deepest sympathies to Nancy's husband Joff (also a Life Member), John, Robyn and Gaye and the whole Scott family. The Funeral Service for Nancy Scott will be held in our Sunshine Funeral Home 51 Devonshire Rd, Sunshine on WEDNESDAY (March 17th 2010) commencing at 10.30am and then back to the club later for Refreshments.

26/2/2010:- The 2010 Autumn season of tennis has started strong for NSTC, the B grade mixed has yet to lose a match, and the C grade 1 team is right up there on the ladder (click here to view mixed ladder).
